I've used many propane heaters in my time and this little guy packs a punch! I've had mine for about 3 years now and I use this in my garage. This thing burns propane very well. I also bought a natural gas/propane meter to make sure the level doesnt get dangerous inside when all doors are closed. Out of all the times I've ever used it my my life it only ever got past the safe limit one time after it being on for more than 3 hours. LIke I said it burns the propane pretty well. I know they don't recommend using it inside where there is no ventilation but as long as you have a working meter you should be fine. Also another thing that helps is I usually only have it on for about 20-30 minutes because this thing heats up the garage very quickly! Then I let it cool down a bit and to help disperse propane for safer use inside for about 20-25 minutes. Another thing that I keep seeing people complain about is a safety mechanism on it. basically there is this red button you have to push down while you are lighting it. The thing is you have to keep holding the button down and not let it go or else it will shut off. You usually have to hold it down for about 20-30 seconds before you can let it go. I don't mind it honestly.I love how easy it is to put on and how easy it is to use. I highly recommend getting this.We bought this heater to help keep us warm during those winter softball tournaments and while it puts out a fair amount of heat you have to practically stand on top of it to really benefit from it (darn those laws of physics!). However between games the team huddles up inside our two pop up tents, one is 10x10 and one is 12x12 and when pushed together and when we put the walls up on at least three sides it does warm things up pretty well. Additionally offering an option to add a built in push button igniter would be nice, still easy to light with one of those long charcoal lighters but at least offer an igniter option for those who’d want it. Overall very pleased with the purchase. This bad boy puts out some serious heat!! It’s definitely not complicated to assemble the propane tank adapter bracket, onto the heater. I do wish though, that the tank bracket was a little heavier gauge metal. It does work just fine though as is. I would definitely Recommend this product to anyone that’s in the market for a propane heater it’s really awesome. We love this!! In searching for an outdoor heater I didn't want the standard upright ones. First - they only seem to produce heat if you're right next to them. Second, those little propane tanks don't last long and are expensive. In looking for other options I came across this. After thinking about it I went back to the cart and price of the standard outdoors heaters had doubled and they were back ordered. I took a chance on this. It fits on a regular tank like you use for your grill. We use it underneath an outdoor tent and it's perfect for socially distant movie nights. Based on our use of it on low I think a standard propane tank will last for at least 15 hours on low. And since I live in Southern California, low is perfect to keep away the dampness on the nights when it gets into the 50s. We have an outdoor movie set up and plan to use it all winter long with this heater. I highly recommend it!I'm using it indoors though it's not recommended for it. Sufficient ventilation is required. Received it a few days before a power outage during a cold snap (it doesn't often get below freezing in the mid-south but it did this time). Works great!I just got in from using this heater for 4 hours and it works far better than I expected. I am heating a space about 35 feet long and 9 feet wide with 8 foot ceilings and is far from insulated. The space is made out of a few rolls of 4mm plastic stapled up to stacks of wood and holds the heat in just great. I initially thought I would buy a salamander propane blower style heater to get things up to a reasonable temp and then use something like this, which makes very little noise, for most the day and just fire up the salamander when it got too cold again. Well, I am really glad I bought this one first because I now know I won't be needing the noisy salamander after all. It was 20 degrees outside today here in Vermont and after running this on high for about 5 or 10 minutes my space was in the 60's. I then turned it down to low and finished out the day in a tee shirt. Also, I had the plastic tarp propped open a foot or so at the door for ventilation and it kept heating the space just fine (on low) with cold winter air blowing in. Just incredible. I am going to take very good care of it and bring in the house each day when I am done just to help reliability. Also, I accidentally knocked over two sawhorses and they hit the heater and it immediately shut off proving the built in safety feature works quite well.I never write reviews on amazon but just had to after stressing out about which heater to buy for about a month now. This was the first day so I will try and report back after some time to let you know how she does in the long run.I love this heater. My family attends a lot of outdoor events in the winter and we take this every time. Everyone always ask where we bought the heater from because it is so easy to install and turn on.Great product but I had to return it .The fumes it was emitting in the garage was making me dizzy . I made extra sure the valve was on properly and for the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning , better be safe than sorry .Use at own risk peeps .This is a fantastic heater that gives off a lot of heat in all directions. Even on the lowest setting it is too hot. I fine tune the flame down with the propane tank outlet valve. Beware!!! This burner consumes the propane fast. A 20 pound propane tank is empty within 12 hours of use on low setting. I cannot stress how much heat it gives off for that rate of consumption. If you don’t mind frequent refills it is worth it. Imagine leaving your propane barbecue burning for 12 hours.A little tricky to start. Once started, it throws the heat to a certain limit but then just stops. We used it on an outdoor covered patio so it was pretty open - I think it would work well in an area that is at least bounded by one side. Yes I would purchase again but with different expectations.I can't compare to some of the single, double or triple tank top heaters but this unit is awesome! Not much difference between Low (30k BTU), Medium (35k BTU) or High (40k BTU) but the heat is quite comfortable whatever side of the heater you are on. I'm on my deck now, moderate wind, and it will not blow out on low setting. I tested this on a near empty 20lb tank, and 2 hours later it's still kicking. The real test will be this weekends mans canoeing trip. I am impressed so far ...
