Toyota Corolla came in a cold region package for colder areas and a non cold region package in warmer areas. My car is the non cold region package and requires a heater core that is 1.25 inches thick. I ordered the non-cold region heater core. The one I was sent was 2 inches thick which fits the cold region car. I am positive I ordered the correct one according to the company website. The company that makes these heater core overseas for Spectra has everything mixed up. Not sure what is going on. I first ordered this same heater core through Auto Zone and this exact thing happened. Thinking someone could of just bought it and then returned maybe putting the wrong one back in the box I just ordered another one. This time through Amazon. Again it was the wrong heater core. Trying again I ordered another through Advance Auto. Knowing Advance had a different distributor I thought I couldn't go wrong. The one from Advance Auto was labeled as Toughone. One of their brands. I'm thinking this one has to be the right one. Boy was I wrong. I pulled it out of the box and apparently Toughone and Spectra use the same overseas manufacturer. So, save yourself some time and don't order this one or from Advance or Auto Zone if your car is the cold region package and has a heater core of 1.25 inches thick.
