My review is about six months late from when I purchased it, however, better late than never!With that said, this electric fireplace is absolutely WONDERFUL!!! I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my beautiful 85 year old mother, and boy was she thrilled!! She can actually have a "fire" in her fireplace again! She was like a little kid with a new toy, she had it on every night, especially if she was eating ice cream (something she always like to do in front of a roaring fire in the winter!), and again in the mornings while having her coffee and breakfast! She loves the remote because she can just sit at the table and press a button are two which makes it quite convenient for her since she is severally handicapped with Rheumatoid Arthritis.The flames are so very, very real like, even fooled some company she had over one time! It even produces quite a bit of heat, however she uses it primarily for the ambiance:)I looked at others online, but this was the one that looked most real to me, and it defiantly did not disappoint!! It fits perfectly in her old wood fireplace opening, she even keeps the glass fireplace door closed when not using the heat, which really makes it look like a good ole cozy fire on a good chilly night!!I highly recommend this electric insert.
