Loved this heater when i got it but it only lasted 3 sessions before it literally started to burn away the casing and melting the plastic. If it wasn't for the smell I never would have known how big a fire hazard this was...this electric heater generates heat as soon as you turn it on. 1500 W of power is a lot of heat. it came in two boxes; the actual heater assembly and in separate box was the tripod. there is some assembly/mounting required but with the accompanying instructions, it was straight forward. the tripod is about an inch thick. i expanded the three legs by pushing it down, typical tripod mechanism.There is suppose to be a hand-tightehing screw at the bottom to lock the legs in place, but this shipment was missing it; minus one star. i will try to contact the seller to see if they can ship me one. this is a safety concern for me because the stability of the tripod that holds the heating system up high where you adjust it to; is critical.meanwhile, to be able to test the heater on the tripod, i took the upper hand-thightening screw from the upper section of the tripod (used to help adjust & secure the vertical height of the tripod) and used that at the bottom.the upper pole of the tripod has incremental holes for a locking pin (also supplied) which i used to secure the height of the pole.there is a fall-safe feature to where the heater auto turns off when falls or tipped over i simulated this by tilting the assembly to its side and it worked.to add stability to the tripod, a small nylon bag is also included; you can fill in with sand and tie it to the bottom section to add weight the tripod’s base.Great for outdoor/patio use; or anywhere else you need instant heat.I love working on projects in my garage, but winter months make it very challenging. Because I work on a variety of projects that involve welding, or oil-based paints, I needed a non-combustion heater. This heater warms up the space enough to make working on cold days much more enjoyable and allows for a safer work environment.The tripod that comes with the heater is sturdy. If you don't want to use the tripod, the kit also comes with brackets to mount your heater on your wall. I personally like the tripod for the moment but enjoy the idea that can mount this later when I upgrade my workspace.We used this in the garage during the winter and it worked better than expected. This heated up our double car garage quickly and it has a far output! The only issue is I wish the power cord was longer on the unit. Besides that, I was very happy using this as the heat was instant, strong, and covered a large area!This outdoor patio heater, by Colliford electric is just what I Desperately needed to feel warm inside, outside, and in my garage. It literally took less than 10 minutes to unpack the patio heater and tripod and fully assemble both, and the instant heat it provides cannot be overstated. This was actually my first time using a 1500-Watt infrared heater, and I was really shocked as to how quickly the heater gets to work and provides amazing warmth. This is the perfect solution to keep an outdoor patio or a garage warm in those cold winter days and can be used indoor if you are really cold inside as well. It just heats up so fast, it’s really amazing if you have never used one before! The heater can be angled and adjusted to whatever desirable position you would like, and its height can also be adjusted through the tripod. The tripod assembly is very sturdy, and I have complete faith that it will securely support the heater. Furthermore, if the heater were to ever fall over it has tip over protection as well, and it also comes with an empty bag to fill with sand if you would like to secure the stand even more.I would wholeheartedly recommend this heater to anyone looking to experience instant warmth in cold temperatures, inside or out!If this review was helpful, please feel free to click the helpful button below.Mounting the heater to the stand was probably the most tricky part as the instructions are not available or very very minimal. The heat output is great. We got this for under the gazebo or in the garage. The stand is very sturdy so I expect it to last.I like to work in my garage in the winter, and this heater makes life bearable. The tripod stand gets it up where you can take advantage of the infrared heat (which concentrates the heat on your body instead of raising the temperature of all the air in the room.RecommendedTHE GOOD:---------------* WOW! I've been doing it wrong in the garage. I hate working in the garage when it's so cold. It's not insulated, and I use those indoor space heaters. They don't work well. I cannot believe how warm this thing is. I can sit at my chair and this thing can be a good 5 ft away from me, and I can feel it. There was never a time when I can feel my space heater 5 ft away from me. This thing is truly amazing.* Tripod included is thicker than standard camera tripods, and is very sturdy.* Accessories are included for you to mount on the wall.THE BAD:------------* No oscillation.Overall, I'm very happy with this heater. I'm now learning there is a difference between space heaters and heaters made specifically for OUTDOORS. If you need to keep warm in the garage, don't get space heaters. My space heater is almost the same size as this patio heater, and it's also 1500W. It just doesn't work well compared to this patio heater. It's definitely in the internal design. If you need something for the outdoors or garage... Get this guy! 5-Stars!
