There is a very uneven heat distribution between the top floor and the basement of my house (which I believe is the norm). But I was really struggling with the fact that my laundry room is in the basement, I like to hang dry a lot of my clothes, and because it was so much cooler in the basement than upstairs, my clothes were getting a musty smell from hanging so long before they finally dried. I installed this in my laundry room to help dry my clothes and it works absolutely amazing. I have kids and pets so I was a little worried about it at first, it does get quite hot but not hot enough to burn. I've actually found it quite helpful in my toddler learning what it means when something is hot, without the risk of him burning himself. He has touched it and understood that it was hot and uncomfortable, and now he no longer touches it but will just point to it and say hot. I can't recommend this product enough. It's also worth noting that the instructions state that it can be painted to match your wall color! I haven't done this yet but I thought that was really cool.
